At Stowford Riding Centre we offer quality instruction for both children and adults, from total beginners to the more experienced rider.
Before the lesson we will undertake a short 5 minute interview with you about what you want to achieve from your riding lesson.
Progression is essential so you can be well assured that each lesson will be tailored for you, so you are able to progress onto the next stage of your riding.
If you want to improve your knowledge of looking after your own horse, then ask one of our friendly team about the programme of our stable management course.
We provide all relevant equipment to the latest British standard (e.g. riding hats) to be able to conduct our lessons safely. However, we do not provide clothing therefore you should dress according to the weather.
* Please note that a child is regarded under the age of 16 years and the minimum age of a child that can ride with us at Stowford is 5 years.
** Please bear in mind that all times are approximate, and lessons may run shorter or longer than stated.
*** All lessons must be booked at least 24 hours in advance to avoid disappointment.
Lessons Types
Private Lessons
This allows one to one tuition between instructor and rider. Lessons are available for 30 minutes or 1 hour duration.
Semi Private Lessons
This allows 2 people to learn together who are at a similar ability. This is a great way of learning for friends etc. Lessons are available for 30 minutes or 1 hour duration.
Group Lessons
This allows a group of riders at similar ability to learn together from the instructor and each other. This is available only for intermediate and advanced riders, and lessons are only available for 1 hour duration
Lead Rein Lesson
This is an ideal way for nervous or young riders to start learning and enjoying their riding experience. With the advantage of one to one tuition and the knowledge that the instructor is keeping control of the pony, the young riders confidence will soon grow. The rider is still in control of the pony with reins and stirrups.
