THE FLEETWOOD RANGE

In our experience, people aspire to owning a Fleetwood caravan - particularly a twin axle Heritage model - in the same way that people aspire to own a BMW or Mercedes car. They are commonly perceived to be at the top of the tree (with Coachman caravans vying for the same accolade). The Fleetwood range must be seen in this context, particularly the Heritage, Volante and Colchester models. Fleetwood are not trying to build a cheap caravan, they are trying to build the best! They produce caravans in relatively small numbers with an emphasis on quality. As such, they are at the more expensive end of the market.

There is a general feeling of quality in a Fleetwood Heritage or Volante that sets it apart from the norm and they carry a specification list to match:

  • Instead of the more conventional blown air heating system the Volante and Heritage have the new Alde wet central heating system. Concealed water filled radiators work in much the same way as central heating does at home. The system has it's own mini boiler and works off either gas or electric via a programmable thermostat control. There is even the luxury of a heated towel rail in the bathroom!
  • The caravan is wired for satellite TV and there is a radio/cd player linked to twin speakers.

  • There is a wireless alarm system with key fob operation. This can even be set for overnight use when you are in the caravan by simply deactivating the interior sensors.
  • Fleetwood currently have exclusive use of the award winning "Thiefbeaters" Sold Secure approved theft deterrent system. This system consists of a series of coded marks throughout the caravan in secret locations. These marks make the caravan forever identifiable.
  • The Heritage models have a huge fridge, separate freezer and fitted microwave stack which is as big and as practical as anything available in a touring caravan today.
In our opinion, Fleetwood have also hit the mark with two outstanding layouts which have proved extremely popular at all the major caravan exhibitions. Furthermore, we have not found anything to compare in the entire UK market. Firstly, Fleetwood's flagship caravan - the Heritage 640-ES and secondly, the Volante 560-4, both with fixed bed arrangements at the rear. These two are simply fantastic caravans for people seeking a fixed bed layout.

THE HERITAGE

Fleetwood are not trying to build a cheap caravan, they are trying to build the best! The heritage is their flagship range. It really is a prince amongst caravans. It is available in 4 layouts – all on a twin axle chassis. It is big, spacious and luxurious. MORE INFO»

THE VOLANTE

This is really the baby brother of the Fleetwood Heritage! It carries the same luxury spec’ levels as the Heritage, but with the ease of a single axle. It too is available in 4 layouts, all with an L-shaped front living area. Once again, the Volante provides luxurious caravanning. MORE INFO»

THE COLCHESTER

The Colchester name is maybe Fleetwoods oldest, best known and most loved brand. For 2005 the model has been completely re-modernised both inside and out with new front and rear elevations that are now identical in appearance to the Volante and Heritage profiles. It is built on the same production line so you can be assured of the same build quality. This range is Fleetwoods contribution to the Clubman class. MORE INFO»

THE SONATA

The Sonta range is Fleetwood’s entry level caravan. Made abroad by Fleetwood’s parent company Adria, the Sonata range is very continental in its style and appearance. They provide popular layouts at competitive prices. The outstanding feature of the Sonata range is the wider body. In imperial measurements 7’3” is pretty standard caravan width for UK manufacturers. The Sonata, however, is 7’6” wide – an extra 3” of internal width and, my, what a difference it makes. As you step in there is an usual feeling of space within these models, ideal for families of course. The extra width is still quite legal on UK roads, you will be pleased to know. We have found that the quality of furnishings in particular are very good (“Teddy” chenille fabric) in an entry level caravan. MORE INFO»
