THE COACHMAN RANGE

The Coachman company logo is "A commitment to excellence". Here at Stowford we have been fans of the Coachman product and the Coachman company for some time. In our experience, they are one of the better manufacturers to deal with. Not only is the product good, but a commitment to excellence in aftersales and customer service is also evident and this is something we value highly.

The Coachman Caravan is not the lightest on the market, or the cheapest; however, they are fantastically well made, with outstanding attention to detail. Having visited the factory ourselves and seen at first hand their commitment to excellence, I have to say that we were impressed!

The rigorous inspection process at every stage of production, the quality of materials used and finally, the exhaustive testing and preparation of each completed caravan ought to give any potential Coachman customer great reassurance and peace of mind. Certainly, as a dealer looking to sell the product, it gives us great confidence.

The fact that Coachman caravans are not the lightest caravan on the market is because there is no compromise on the strength and integrity of the caravan structure itself. It is unusually strong and is therefore of above average weight.

For example, the floor is made of marine ply and, unusually, it is then strengthened with lateral and longitudinal timber braces under the floor. This gives extra strength and stability to the floor (which you can feel when you walk on it), but this obviously increases the overall weight of the unit. The roof is double skinned and bonded so that it is strong enough to walk on.

Similarly, there is no compromise on the quality of the materials used and this is reflected in the price, which is a little (but not much) above the average. For example, Coachman are particularly proud of the quality of their bathroom units where they use domestic quality chrome taps instead of plastic. The upholstery in the lounge and bed areas is all sprung rather than just foam and the interior furniture is made from the best quality ply woods then edged in solid ash.

In conclusion, I can only say that having been involved with caravans for many years now, we approached Coachman about selling their caravans because we wanted to be associated with their product. In our opinion, it is the closest thing on the market today to the old Coach-built products of a previous era.
