Adria have been building caravans for 40 years now and are one of Europe’s biggest manufacturers, exporting their product to 29 different countries worldwide, so they should know a thing or two about caravans. For a number of years Adria have been quiet in the UK market but for the last 2 years they have been looking to re-establish themselves here and have recently bought Fleetwood Caravans outright and prepared 3 Adria ranges for the UK market – The Altea, Adora and top of the range Adiva. Each of these ranges come on a single axle chassis. The very large twin axle Adria’s are not being imported into the UK since they are too wide to be towed on UK roads, except by a commercial vehicle; and they do not then comply with the requirements for NCC approval.

All of these new generation Adria’s have a modern, contemporary feel about them and have been well received as we have exhibited them over the last year or so. The one outstanding feature which unites them all is the extra width (7’6” as opposed to 7’3” wide). They are still road legal but unusually spacious inside and we promise that the extra 3 inches really makes a big difference in a family caravan.

THE ALTEA

The Altea is Adria’s entry level caravan and by any standards represents fantastic value. They are available at around the £8,000 mark and there aren’t many new caravans available at that price. THE ADORA

The Adora range carries the label of best seller in this Adria selection. It benefits from the extra width of course and so feels roomy and is very practical. It is simply an excellent value family van, at the right price. It is the kind of van that feels like it has been designed for hard family use. In 2004 the Adora came without an oven, however, this has been added to the list of standard features for 2005. THE ADIVA

The Adiva is the top of the range option, at a mid-market price. Once again, one outstanding feature is the extra internal width and spacious feel. However, there is more to this van than just extra space. There are polyester sides (as opposed to the more conventional aluminium). This is a growing trend in modern caravans because of the extra strength, but lighter weight. Don’t tell Adria, but at a recent exhibition we stood on the Adiva roof in order to clean it. This is note something we would dare do on an aluminium roof! So the extra strength claim is no idle on, the polyester realyy does advance caravan construction significantly.
