About the Horses
Stowford Riding Centre have a number of well schooled horses and ponies available for riding lessons and trekking.
| Ringo – 15.2hh, 22 year old, Dale, Gelding |
| Ringo is our escort pony, and is used when trekking out, or for demonstrations. He leads other ponies when the rider is nervous. He is experienced at what he does with an nice temperament. |

| May – 14.3hh, 25 year old, Grey, Mare |
May is in semi retirement, but when she is working she is
used for small light weight riders. She is very set in her
ways, yet is a firm favourite with our clients. |

| Sun Dance – 15hh, 18 year old, Welsh Cob, Gelding |
Sun Dance is an ideal riding pony, assertive at what he
does yet accepting of the riders actions. However he does
like a munch, so you had better stay alert or he will start
eating. |

| Cairo – 15hh, 5 year old, Chestnut Cob, Gelding |
Cairo is a new addition to the team and has been with us
just over a year. Cairo is more suitable for the experienced
rider as he is still learning and may teach you a few things. |

| Bonnie – 17hh, 15 year old, Shire Horse, Mare |
Bonnie is another new addition to the team. Bonnie is a
typical gentle giant and can take 5 year old children to 80
year old elderly people and would be as safe as houses. |

| Rockey – 11.2hh, 17 year old, Shetland Cross, Gelding |
Rockey is our smallest pony and is an ideal lead rein pony.
Rockey is an experienced riding school pony with a nice
temperament, but can be quite cheeky at times. |

| Sox – 14.1 hh, 14 year old, Chestnut Anglo Arab, Mare |
Sox is one of our stables most favourite ponies, she is
responsive and forward going but safe, she has excellent
paces and is ideal for a beginner. |

| Steel – 13.1hh, 11 year old, Blue Roan, Mare |
Steel was born at Stowford and her mother is Tango. She
is a real character and a favourite with children. |

| Ziggy – 13.3hh, 11 year old, Fell, Mare |
Like Steel, Ziggy was also born at Stowford. She is an
outgoing and strong little mare, so is used for intermediate
riders or as a lead rein pony. |

| Tango – 13.3, 18 year old, Strawberry Roan, Mare |
Tango for her age is still rather lively, so is used for
experienced riders or as a lead rein pony. She is great fun
and very forward going. |
|
| Milly – 13.1, 3 year old, Fell, Mare |
Milly is our last new addition, she is still only young, hence
is in training and not being used by clients yet. However she
is a very friendly mare and loves to be handled. |
